Graduated with BSc (Hons) in Chemistry in 1996 and then with an MSc (by research) in Environmental Chemistry from University of Wales, Bangor in 1998.
Thesis title: 'Characterisation of Simazine Degradation, Transport and Movement in Agricultural Soils'
Environmental Nanocatalysis
Analytical Chemistry.
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM) coupled with Cryo SEM and VP-SEM across a range of areas including nanotechnology, materials and food science, engineering applications as well as biological samples.
I undertook PhD research (part time) alongside my work duties in Nov 2006 in the area of preparation, characterisation and activity testing of SWCNT and C supported gold nanocatalysts and their potential environmental applications in collaboration with University College Dublin.
