Graduation of first focas PhD students

Saturday the 22nd of October saw the graduation of the first PhD students to have started and finished under the auspices of Focas.
Dr Raghavendra Jallapuram began his work on “Optimisation of an acrylamide-based photopolymer for reflection holographic recording” in April 2002 with the Centre for industrial and Engineering Optics under the joint supervision of Dr Robert Howard, Dr Vincent Toal, Dr Izabela Naydenova and Dr Suzanne Martin.

Peter, Fiona & Sharon Dr Peter Olwell began his work on “A Study of the Effects of Low Level Tradition on Cell Lines and Primary Cultures of Fish” in February 2001 with the Radiation and Environmental Science Centre under the supervision of Dr Carmel Mothersill and Dr Fiona Lyng.

Dr Sharon ní Shuilleabháin, began her work on “Evaluating the Use of in vitro Bioassays for the Ecotoxicological Assessment of Estuarine Sediments” in October 2000 also within the Radiation and Environmental Science Centre under the supervision of Dr Carmel Mothersill and Dr David Sheehan.
